1. Who we are

Cadet Duo (https://cadetduo.com) provides exam-preparation tools for defence aspirants through our website and Android mobile app. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at contact@cadetduo.com.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

• This website: waitlist sign-ups and marketing pages at https://cadetduo.com
• The Cadet Duo Android app: account sign-in, practice sessions, analytics, optional ads, and AI-assisted features

3. Information we collect

3.1 Website (cadetduo.com)

• Waitlist email: when you join the early-access waitlist
• Usage analytics: aggregated page views and visit patterns
• Marketing analytics: page views and waitlist conversion events when marketing tools are enabled
• Technical data: browser type, device type, and referrer collected automatically by our hosting and analytics providers

3.2 Mobile app account & profile

• Account identifiers: email address, phone number (OTP sign-in), or Google account identifier when you sign in
• Profile information: display name and a generated profile avatar (not a photo you upload)
• Authentication tokens: stored securely on your device to keep you signed in

3.3 Learning & usage data

• Practice answers, scores, streaks, XP, session history, and topic progress
• Mock-test and PYQ (previous-year paper) attempt records
• Flashcard progress and AI-generated study content you create
• Subscription tier, credits, and content unlock status
• Flashcard content reports and general feedback you send through Help & Support

3.4 Notifications

If you enable reminders in Settings, we schedule local notifications on your device (for example streak reminders or when a PYQ mistake report is ready). We do not send marketing push notifications. On Android 13 and above, the app may ask for notification permission before showing reminders.

3.5 AI features

When you use AI-powered explanations or flashcard generation, we send relevant question text, topic context, and your request to our servers. That content may be processed by third-party AI services to generate responses. We do not use your study content to train public AI models.

3.6 Diagnostics, analytics & advertising

• Product analytics: app events such as sign-in, practice started, and feature usage, linked to your account when signed in
• Crash reporting: crash logs, device model, OS version, and stack traces to fix stability issues
• Advertising: when ads are enabled, advertising partners may collect the Android Advertising ID and ad interaction data. Free-tier users may see rewarded or interstitial ads.

3.7 Payments

When in-app purchases are enabled, payments are handled by authorized payment processors. We receive transaction status and subscription metadata; we do not store full card or UPI credentials on our servers.

• Provide and improve exam-preparation features
• Personalize practice recommendations and track your progress
• Authenticate your account and prevent abuse
• Process subscriptions, unlocks, and credits
• Send practice and streak reminders when you enable them
• Measure product performance and fix crashes
• Show ads to free-tier users when ads are enabled
• Comply with legal obligations

5. Sharing with service providers

We share data with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf to operate Cadet Duo. These include providers for:

• Account sign-in, hosting, and database services
• Product analytics and crash reporting
• Advertising, when ads are enabled
• Payment processing, when purchases are enabled
• AI content generation for study features you request
• Website hosting and marketing analytics

These providers may only use your data to deliver services to us, under their own privacy terms and applicable law. We share only what is needed to run the Service.

6. AI-generated content

AI responses are generated automatically and may contain errors. They are intended as study aids, not official exam guidance. If you see a problem with AI-generated flashcards, you can report it from the flashcard session in the app. For AI explanations or other concerns, use Help & Support in Profile or email contact@cadetduo.com. See our Terms of Service for limitations on AI content.

7. Advertising

Free-tier users may see ads from advertising partners. Those partners may use the Advertising ID and device information to deliver and measure ads, subject to your device settings and applicable consent requirements. Paid subscribers may not see ads depending on their plan.

8. Data retention

• Account and learning data are kept while your account is active
• Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to remove them
• Crash and analytics data are retained for a limited period per provider settings, then aggregated or deleted
• When you delete your account, we delete your profile and associated learning data from our primary database, subject to short backup retention and legal requirements

9. Your choices & rights

• Access & correction: update your display name in the app; contact us for other profile changes
• Marketing: email contact@cadetduo.com to opt out of waitlist updates
• Advertising ID: reset or limit ad personalization in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads
• Account deletion: request deletion via our account deletion page or by email from your account address

If you are in a region with additional privacy rights (e.g. GDPR), you may contact contact@cadetduo.com to exercise them.

10. Account deletion

Google Play requires apps with account creation to offer account deletion. You can request deletion at any time:

We verify your identity, then delete your account within 30 days. An in-app delete option in Profile is planned and will be added in a future app update.

Deletion removes your profile, practice history, streaks, credits, unlocks, and authentication record. Some anonymized analytics or payment records required for fraud prevention and tax compliance may be retained as permitted by law.

11. Children's privacy

Cadet Duo is designed for adults preparing for defence entrance exams and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated API access, and row-level security on user data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique sign-in method and keep your device secure.

13. Where data is processed

Cadet Duo is operated from India. Some service providers that help us run the Service may process data on servers in other countries. We choose providers with appropriate security practices and share only what is needed to deliver the Service.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by email where appropriate.
